To help you create the perfect holiday plan, we’ve provided you with a list of 8 activities to do with your family or friends here in Maryland!

Flat Iron Farm in Great Mills, MD is a great place to go to embrace the Christmas Spirit! At the farm, you will find some Christmas-themed shops where you can browse and drink some hot cocoa or apple cider. They also have a couple of buildings with some great antiques, including cars, tractors, Barbies, and more! There is a petting zoo, along with pony rides from their great horses. Don’t forget to stop by to see Santa and get some food from the food trucks. They are open December 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, and 23rd, so don’t miss out on all of the Holiday Fun! Go see some gorgeous lights for a great cause! Pay $20 per car to see lights on the bay at Sandy Point State Park. This is a fundraiser for the Anne Arundel SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Lights on The Bay is open Monday-Thursday 6-10 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 5-10 p.m. Purchase your tickets here and help the Anne Arundel SPCA!

Visit the Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center to walk through some beautiful light displays and get some great pictures! Each night there will be Dazzling lights, Festive entertainment, an Ornament Show & Sale, a Holiday Gift Show & Sale, Pop-Up Holiday Shops, and Food Trucks. Tickets are $15 per person online and $17 per person at the gate. Children 2 years and under are free. The light garden is open nightly until January 1, 2024, except for December 4, 5, 24, and 25. Enjoy some light displays, holiday food, handmade crafts, children’s activities, shopping, music, and much more at the annual Kris Kringle Christmas Market. This event is held at the Charles County Fairgrounds on December 8 (4 p.m.- 8 p.m.), 9 (9 a.m.- 8 p.m.), and 10 (10 a.m.- 3 p.m.). Fireworks will happen on Saturday at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 and children 10 and under are free. Be sure to mark your calendars for this event! All proceeds benefit The Southern Maryland Food Bank, The Charles Co. Association of Emergency Medical Services, The Charles Co. Volunteer Firemen’s Association, and the Charles County Fair.

The Downtown Holiday Market is located in Downtown Washington, D.C. Centered at 8th and F Streets, NW, downtown Washington, D.C., at 8th and F Streets, NW, is an outdoor shopping market that supports small businesses and entrepreneurs. The outdoor shopping village consists of wide aisles for shopping, browsing, enjoying food, and live entertainment! The 19th Annual Downtown Holiday Market returns from November 17th through December 23rd, open daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., excluding December 3rd.

The Capital Clubhouse is a recreational and sports complex for a variety of sports programs located in Waldorf, MD. Capital Clubhouse offers many sessions, a mix of venues provided for a host of programs, drop-ins, leagues, themed events, expos, trade shows, shows, concerts, and much more! The Solomons Christmas Walk is a Lighted Boat Parade organized by Solomons Island Yacht Club, Patuxent River Sail and Power Squadron, Solomons Yachting Center, Sail Solomons, and Southern Maryland Sailing Association. Solomons Business Association will celebrate its 42nd year of Christmas Walk on Saturday, December 9th from 3-9 p.m. at Solomons Yachting Center.
