The NBA Playoffs are well underway, and few teams are still in contention for the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. Today, we will look at current matchups, predictions, and more.

The NBA Playoffs are organized in a way that makes the final series the winners of the Eastern Conference bracket versus the winners of the Western Conference bracket. This year, the East and West have had interesting matchups in the early rounds thus far. In the West, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been hot, downing the Phoenix Suns in a four-game sweep, the T-Wolves are currently matched against the defending champion Denver Nuggets, who have played them close through four games so far in the series (2-2, best of 7). Also matching up in the West are the OKC Thunder, and the Dallas Mavericks, a series full of stars such as Luka Dončić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kyrie Irving, Chet Holmgren, and more. Currently, the Mavs are in control of that series two games to one.

In the East, the Boston Celtics handled the Miami Heat in just five games, promptly advancing to the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they are ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers through three games (2-1). The other matchup in the East is of course the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. In what is sure to be a tight series the whole way, both teams have claimed two wins through four games, and players like Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Haliburton, and Donte DiVincenzo have excelled so far.

What’s next? Two East and West winners will advance to their respective Conference Finals. The two winners from the Conference Finals will face off under the brightest lights in the NBA Finals.

It’s much easier to make predictions now that the playoffs are in full swing, and the matchup I want to see in this year’s NBA finals is the Timberwolves vs. the Celtics. With both teams bringing immense talent to the court, a matchup like this would likely be a crowd-pleaser for basketball fans. The Timberwolves have a superstar in the making with guard Anthony Edwards; the Celtics have the most well-rounded roster of any team in years.

With so many great teams still competing, this year’s playoffs are sure to be must-see entertainment for sports fans worldwide, regardless of what team you’re cheering for.
