Re-Elect Obama?

Re-Elect Obama?

The 2012 election is coming up, and people are wondering who they should vote for. Obama, our current president, can run for a second term, but after almost four years, he hasn’t really done anything for the people or made the economy better. “I don’t think that Obama should be re-elected because he doesn’t do anything,” says sophomore Layne Woodrum. Before Obama can be re-elected, he has to show Americans that he will make things better. Just in September, the unemployment status reached 10.1%. In 2008, his campaign slogan was “Change we can believe in,” and yet, the government and the president need to work on these changes for them to occur.

The leading Republicans running for president are Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, and Rick Perry. The leading Democrat is, of course, Barack Obama. “I think this will be a close race,” says sophomore Marqui Zimmerman. It will be a close race because we are in very deep debt, and we really need someone in the government to give us a change. “Some people just like Obama, so they will vote for him no matter what,” says junior David Layman. It really depends on the people, but this is what they really need to think about: Is Obama going to give us the change he promised? We’ll have to see in this upcoming election.
