Boys Varisty Soccer Game- 10/11/11

Katrina Bennett, Head Editor

Last night, the Leonardtown Boys Varisty Soccer team pushed past the Panthers with a 1- 0 victory. During the first half, the play was fairly equal, and the ball went back and forth; the score at the half was 0-0. The Raiders really picked it up in the second half though, and had a total of 12 shots on goal, including one in the 52nd minute which went in. Senior Jon Milan put the ball into the back of the net, and was assisted by senior Craig Brubacher who gave him a perfect cross from the outside.

The defense was solid during the second half as well, and junior goalie Chad Selph had a total of 7 saves. Those players that protected the goal, including sophomore Will Liebler, senior Kyle Crandall, junior David Detwiler, and senior Eric Pope, made sure that for the majority of the second half, the ball stayed out of their half.

Overall, the Raiders played very well! Come out next Tuesday night at 6 p.m. to support them in their game against Great Mills!
