The movie Battleship was released on May 18, 2012, starring Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, and Liam Neeson. The writers of Battleship are Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber. The director of this movie is Peter Burg. This movie also starred a popular music artist, Rihanna. It is rated PG-13.

This movie is about a fleet of ships forced to battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover their destructive goals. NASA says that they have found a new planet that is similar to Earth. The satellites detect something that is falling into Earth, and they said that it was no meteorite. It crashes into the Pacific Ocean, and destroys Hong Kong. Throughout the movie there was tons of action. If an action movie is your favorite type of movie, then this will be a perfect film for you to see. “I love action movies and when I saw this preview I knew this was a movie I had to see” said freshman Kennedy Smith. Its underperformance was likely due to competition with Marvel’s The Avengers. “I honestly thought this movie would have been better, but I’m not one for action movies” said sophomore Shannon Yates. However, despite poor initial performance in North America, many analysts felt that Battleship’s international gross helped bolster global grosses.
