The movie The Lucky One starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling is based on the top selling novel written by Nicholas Sparks, and is a mixture between drama and romance. A marine travels to Louisiana after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war. His good luck charm for staying alive during the war was a photograph of an unknown lady that he found laying on the ground while he was in Iraq. Throughout the movie, there is everything from drama, to heart racing romance, and everything in between. This film was directed by Scott Hicks and was released on April 20, 2012.
We asked students if after seeing the previews, would they go and see this movie? “I would see this movie because I love watching drama and romance movies, they are my favorite,” said sophomore Shannon Yates. Another peer at Leonardtown High School, Kennedy Smith, answered this question also and said “No, because it just seems like the same thing as other Nicolas Sparks novels like The Last Song and The Notebook and I would like to see something different then that.” Go check this movie out; it is definitely worth seeing.
