Zero Dark Thirty

Zero+Dark+Thirty

Zero Dark Thirty was a great movie based upon the capturing and killing of Osama bin Laden. The movie was shown from the viewpoint of the government, revealing what they did to get the answers. Zero Dark Thirty showed all the events that happened in between finding Osama bin Laden and what exactly it took to find him. Person to person, day after day, it took to find out where he was, who he was with, and other details.

The stress of being in Pakistan waiting for answers is dragging Maya, the agent looking for Osama bin Laden, down more than ever, and she refuses to give up. Her friend has been blown up by what she thought was an answer to where Osama was, and Maya almost got killed while eating in a hotel. Just as her boss wants to give up she comes up with a theory that a guy that was thought to be dead wasn’t;  it was the brother that was dead, considering they look a lot alike with their facial hair. Going from person to person they figure out where the suspect is staying: Abbottabad, Pakistan, and assume that Osama bin Laden was staying with him. After waiting for what seems like a long time, they go in on May 2, 2011 at night and killed the suspects as well as Osama bin Laden.

Zero Dark Thirty was completely realistic and told the real story instead of having any twists in it. Looking around at other viewers you could tell they were on the edge of their seat even while knowing the story behind that movie. Spring Ridge Middle School parent, Luke Hagensick said “I found Zero Dark Thirty very entertaining and intriguing by viewing the assault on Osama Bin Laden through the view point of the Central Intelligence Agency, and the effort in which it took to locate the Al Qaeda leader.” Sophomore Robin Rutkowski said “It was really interesting and easy to follow. It kept me on the edge of my seat. And even though everybody knows the ending of the story, I never wanted to look away.” Watching this story was a great way to see behind the scenes of what actually happened while on the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Zero Dark Thirty definitely got two thumbs up!
